A Gewinde-Grenzlehrdorn is a combination of a Gutlehrdorn and an Ausschusslehrdorn, with the latter marked by a red ring. The good side of the Gewindelehrdorn should screw into the cut thread of a workpiece by hand without excessive force. If not, the thread does not meet the desired standards (Ausschuss). The Ausschuss side can be screwed in by hand up to two turns without further ease, indicating a non-conforming thread. All parts and gauges are referenced at 20°C. VÖLKEL offers a factory calibration certificate upon request, with independent lab testing following DIN, ISO, and ANSI standards on IAC-Gewindescanner.
