The Phosphate Remover Pads are effective at removing and controlling phosphate. Removing phosphates is the most effective way of reducing green water in aquariums. Fluval recommends you replace your Quick-Clear Water Polishing Pads & Carbon every month. If you’re using Phosphate Pads, the 2 pads should also be replaced every month. These thick, ultra-fine polyester water polishing pads effectively trap micro particles and debris, leaving your aquarium crystal clear. They are so fine that they can’t be washed clean. Fluval recommends you replace them every month. THREE are included. Fluval Carbon is a premium, low-ash and highly porous carbon that is highly effective at removing heavy metals, odors, discolorations, organic contaminants and pollutants from aquarium water. After one month the carbon will be so clogged with contaminants it will be ineffective and need to be replaced monthly. THREE 100 gram packs are included. Fluval suggests you use and replace two packs monthly in a 306/307 filter and three packs monthly in a 406/407 filter.
