Original gauache painting on ‘to-do list’ paper. Signed on the front w/ title on the back. Folding the paper in half, Bwana used the center as his starting point to create his friendly sprout monster dude. The colors are hard to truly capture in photos and are much more vibrant and rich in person.
Similar to the work that can be seem in the fantastic Bwana Spoons book, “Welcome to Forrest Island”.—Acquired in this condition by myself directly from the artist.
Bwana Spoons is perhaps more recently known now for his original sofubi figures, but his colorful illustrative low brow artwork is truly his best work! Rare to come across a more personal little piece like this outside of a gallery dealer.
